On February 24, 2026, Michigan Rep. Laurie Pohutsky presented her findings to the House Oversight Committee of the horrible and inhumane conditions at Women’s Huron Valley Facility, including the presence of mold and it’s impact on the residents of the prison. Rep. Pohutsky shared slides with images and details of Krystal’s health impacts due to mold exposure and the timeline of recent medical neglect experienced by Krystal, as well as other residents, which lead to the tragic death of Jennifer Wallace in November 2025.
